English saddleseat instruction on American Saddlebred horses
The horse will be ready at your appointment time. During your first lesson, you will learn to mount, adjust reins, and how to properly guide and stop the horse. We provide helmets, and recommend you wear long comfortable slacks or jeans, full cover shoes or boots (a heel is preferred - no sandals). Gloves are also recommended but not required for first time riders/drivers.
Let us introduce you and your children to a new, exciting and enjoyable experience...
We are located just 45 minutes west of Houston, 25 miles southeast of Brenham, 7 miles east of Bellville in the heart of Texas bluebonnet country.

As you progress in riding or driving you may want to start showing at local saddlebred competitions. We offer an Academy division at shows for just this purpose. In this division, riders and drivers new to the practice may compete in classes that are divided by both skill and age categories. There is no need to own a horse to compete in the Academy division. Bluebonnet Farm has horses that can be leased just for the show! To learn more about showing American Saddlebred horses, pleave visit our At The Show page.
We hope this page has answered some of your questions about learning to ride. If you have any questions or would like to visit prior to taking a lesson, give us a call at:

Appointment to visit during our regular business hours is not required but is recommended if you want to see an array of horses work while you are here.

Gift Certificates available if you'd like to surprise someone special!

Contact the farm at: 979 - 865 - 5051 for more information or to schedule your lesson!
